Lauren grew up in Alexandria, MN, and started learning how to play the violin when she was 7 years old! She started out learning with the Suzuki Method, but really fell in love with music through her public school orchestra program. Because of her experience with wonderful teachers, she was inspired to become a music teacher herself. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Northwestern - St. Paul, where she studied violin with the former Associate Concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra, Roger Frisch.
Lauren and her husband, Eric, recently moved to Fargo from Ithaca, NY, where she taught elementary string orchestra for several years. While living in Ithaca, she also participated in a Suzuki Method training course and ended up earning her Master's in Music Education at Ithaca College.
Lauren is a passionate educator and life-long learner. She specializes in teaching beginning students, but has experience teaching all ages and students with a wide range of abilities. One of her focuses as a public school strings teacher was the full inclusion of students with disabilities. She welcome students of all abilities and learning styles to her studio!
Lauren & Eric welcomed their first baby boy, Henry, in August! While Lauren spends most of her time caring for Henry at home, she is excited to be able to offer private lessons on Thursday evenings in North Fargo.
